Born and bred in Hartland, North Devon until I joined the RAF in 1987. After nine years, many great friends and memories, I left the Royal Air Force Police in 1996 and moved to live in Nottingham where I realised my dream and now work full time as a photographer.
I spent the first 18 years of my life living on one of the most amazing coastlines in the UK, taking in the smell of the salt air, the sound of crashing waves, the howling winds across the cliff tops and the complete silence of the vale at night, it’s where I developed the utmost respect for mother nature and started my love affair of landscape and seascape photography.
So when I moved away, it came as a surprise to me that I also loved the architecture, sights, sounds and the beauty of cityscapes. Especially after dark when the streets really come alive with colour and movement. I love to travel and explore new places, always with my trusty camera at hand, and find it easy to adjust from the tranquility of the coast to the hustle and bustle of the big city.
I am and have been inspired by such great photographers as Chris Burkhard, Joshua Holko, Daniel Bergmann, Ansel Adams, Joe Cornish, Charlie Waite, Clifford Ross, Tim Vollmer and especially my friend Bob Seymour who encouraged me to take up photography many years ago.
The ultimate goal for any photographer is to have their images seen and enjoyed by others. My work has been purchased by County Councils, private collectors, published in several online music publications and in some cases used for commercial campaigns. This website has a selection of some of my best work for sale, however, it’s not exhaustive so please let me know if there’s something in particular you’d like to see.
